They purchased the farmland from Dr. Joseph Tefft and presented gave it to the City of Elgin to be used as a city park. It hosts picnic areas, playgrounds, basketball and tennis courts as well as an open play field used for practice or pickup games. A large little league baseball complex is part of the Lords Park property and includes ten fields used by the little league group.
